First off, Friday was my dad's birthday. He would have been 64 years old. I really can't believe he has been gone for 10 years. Sometimes it seems just like yesterday. I went and had a beer for him and my friend and I did a toast to him. About a week ago I discovered that I had two of his voicemail messages on my itunes account and listened to them. He's really sick sounding in one of them. Brought me to tears. In one of the messages he is thanking me for the flowers I brought to him at the hospital and said they still look really pretty. I know our relationship wasn't great or anything, but I sure do miss him. I'd give anything to talk to him just one more time.

Ran into a couple neighbor guys while out on the town last night. Steve did not know about the divorce. That really surprised me since we've been separated almost 6 months. I thought all the neighbors knew and figured the word had spread by now. He was shocked. He also said he barely recognized me. He said you've lost weight and then told me that I looked great. He said nothing like a divorce to make you lose weight. So true. He asked how I was doing and I said that I was much happier now. He gave me some advice since he's been through a divorce too.
Had a really fun night out too. It's nice to not be a mom for a night and really cut loose.
