So I had a bit of a stalker last week. Stalker might be a strong word, but for lack of another word, that is what I'm using. I had a guy on the dating site email me, not once or twice, but about 4 times and I had not responded. I didn't respond because his profile picture hid his face (this always makes me think someone is hiding something). Last week his last email was sent while we were both online. You can see when someone is online. Against my better judgement I responded and figured if I wasn't interested then this would at least stop him from emailing me.
Seemed like a nice enough guy and we emailed a bit then he asked for my phone # so he could text me. I was reluctant in giving it out, but I had given it out prior to this and none of them were bothering me. I would later learn this was mistake #2. He started texting me way too frequently. In the beginning the attention was nice, but it very quickly got old and I started getting really tired of the texts. This guy was very insecure as he'd keep asking me if I liked him, etc. I kept telling him I hadn't met him so how would I know. He was calling me baby all the time and he was sending me VERY risque photos. I told him not to, but he did it anyway. Before I knew what a nuisance he was, we chatted about ourselves and discovered that his daughter and my son were in the same class at school. Now, I did not give my sons name out, I did not give out my last name, I did not tell him where I lived nor did I tell him where I worked.
It came to the point where I stopped responding to all of his texts. He would send me 5 texts and I would reply with one short text. I suspected that he wasn't really separated, but I don't know that for sure. He kept saying we should meet, but would never follow through with setting up a date. So then he asked if he was texting too frequently and I saw this as my opportunity to get rid of him. I said yes and he said I won't text you again to which I didn't respond. I then enjoyed the quiet of my phone for several hours. By the end of that evening he texted me and said, can we start over. With the help of my male friend, we crafted a response that he was starting to scare me and told him to leave me alone. He said he would never contact me again and was going back to his wife.
I was dreading how I might run into him at the school, then this week there was a meeting with all the parents and the teacher. I decided it was not a good idea to go. That night he went on the the dating site and rated me a 4 or a 5 star. You have to pay to find out more. I discovered I could not prevent him from seeing my profile so I disabled my account. Hopefully he gets the hint.
