Spoiled Christmas

Dave and I have this tradition where we have a nice dinner on Christmas eve, since it is just the two of us. We open our gifts from each other and just enjoy each other's company.  We went to Johnny's Italian Steakhouse in Altoona and had a late lunch/dinner.  Within 3 hours I was feeling really nauseous and had to go lay down.  It hit me out of nowhere.  I spent the evening throwing up, etc...like something out of the Exorcist.  And worst of all I missed Christmas at my mother-in-laws. I heard I missed a few mad games of spoons.  Even Zane played.  I was so disappointed to miss everything.  I have not been that sick in a long time.  Pretty sure I had food poisoning.  Totally ruined my Christmas.

Dave and Zane went to Christmas without me and I guess Zane had lots of candy and cookies before dinner (Dave was being a nice step dad because it was Christmas) and then Wednesday morning he threw up.  I thought I got him sick, but his was nothing like what I had.  He threw up, slept for awhile and was fine.  He even had a huge appetite when he woke up.  This overindulgence of candy and throwing up has happened to him 2 other times.

Three days later and I am still not feeling right.  I found a new diet plan though, lol.  I lost 8 lbs.  Since I work for the Dept. of Public Health, I knew who to report this to and did so.  Now, we had ate at a couple other places over the weekend prior to this so I can't say for sure that it came from Johnny's, but I will say that I looked them up on the inspections and appeals site through work at:  https://iowa.usasafeinspect.com/Inspection/PublicInspectionSearch.aspx and they recently (in November) had 6 violations.  The other two places we ate at over the weekend had nothing since 2016 and it was 1 violation at each.

Let me just say that Chicken de Burgo and anything with de Burgo sauce has forever been ruined for me.

I did manage to get myself up Christmas morning so I could see some gift opening.

I made my spicy pretzels and I made these Friday, well before getting sick.

Zane asked for a robe for Christmas.  Dave thinks it's because of Home Alone where Macaulay Culkin has a robe on in one scene.  So grandma Betty found him a super comfy robe and he loves it.

Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs wore these shoes in their last game.  This is one of Zane's favorite movies.  I showed him the shoes and he loved them.  They are so cool.

Merry Christmas everyone!  Only 2 more Christmas celebrations left.
