Memorial Day & 1st Day of Summer

We took our usual trip out to my dad's grave.  This year I bought flowers for my grandpa Evans and great grandma Evans' graves as well.  Someone else did as well this year so their vases were overflowing.  We took our weed eater and trimmed up all of their graves as well as my dad's friend Mike whose grave is right above his.  My dad already had two sets of flowers, which was nice to see.  I know the purple and yellow are from my brother as it's a Vikings tribute for my dad that he usually does.  I am not sure who else put flowers out there, but guessing it is one of my aunts who had also put flowers on my grandpa & great grandma's.

Afterwards we stopped in Altoona for a little lunch and this was the scene at our table.

Zane was trying to imitate, but couldn't quite figure it out.

This morning was the first day of summer for Zane as yesterday was the last day of school.  Last year on the first day of summer I had stopped and got him a slushy at Kum & Go.  He remembered this and asked if we could do it again and make it a tradition every summer.  Our new tradition begins.  It's the little things that mean the most.  He is ready for his summer to begin and very excited for pool time.
