Cavity

Zane had his first cavity and we had the filling done Tuesday.  Because a simple x-ray didn't go well I was dreading this visit.  He did far better than I hoped.  I had called the dentist office the day prior to inquire about giving him laughing gas and they said they would and would put a note in his chart.

While at the dentist they did a wonderful job with Zane and Dr. Barsetti took the time to explain the whole procedure with Zane.  This kind of thing helped greatly as Zane likes to know what to anticipate in every situation.  After they put the numbing agent in his mouth they started the shots.  Zane started to cry & whine a bit.  I was told when I called that they would use the gas prior to the shots, so I questioned them about it and explained my phone call to their office.  They said no one made notes in the chart and immediately put the gas on him.

Everything else went really smoothly and I was amazed how well Zane did.  He didn't even act bothered by anything after the fact.  I figured the tingling from the numbness wearing off would bother him, but it didn't.  I was so proud of him and I told him that.  He said, "thanks mom".  He's such a great kid!
